Story call-out: food insecurity & students
Hi everyone! I'm writing about food insecurity on campus for the Eyeopener.
TMU'S Good Food Centre has released its annual report on hunger on campus and found that just under 50% of students have experienced food insecurity in the past year: "Students described regularly worrying about running out of food, skipping meals, eating less nutritious food and, in some cases, going an entire day without eating because they could not afford food."
What do you think about that stat? How can campus resources do a better job of supporting students in times of financial hardship? If this is something you'd like to speak about, shoot me an email ([email redacted]). Thanks :)
