Toronto IVF Patients for Toronto Life Clinic Cost Transparency Feature

Journalist request | TORONTO patients: Experiences with clinic transparency around costs/treatment options?" Hi! My name is Caitlin Walsh Miller, and I’m a freelance journalist working on a story about the fertility industry for the Canadian magazine Toronto Life. Our story is looking at the lack of transparency regarding IVF costs. I’m hoping to speak with Toronto-area patients, or those that visit clinics in the GTA, about their experiences. (To other Canadians/Ontarians: Apologies for the focus on Toronto—that’s the magazine’s readership, and I hope to do more widespread coverage in the future.) Did you experience unexpected fees or surprise costs? Sign on for a "guaranteed" package but struggle to get money back? Feel like your clinic pushed certain treatments, supplements, or interventions without fully explaining whether they were evidence-based or medically necessary? This piece is not looking to blame/shame the industry as a whole—there are very good clinics and doctors out there doing vital work for an oft-overlooked portion of society, but we do want to talk about what can happen in a sector with little oversight and virtually no consumer protection. If any of the above resonates, please don’t hesitate to reach out, even if it’s to ask questions about what I’m working on, or tell me about a whole other part of fertility care we should be looking at. You can contact me here, or at c.walsh.miller AT gmail DOT com. Thanks for considering.
