UK Criminal Law Experts - Abolish Jury Trials Under 3-Year Sentences

#journorequest Abolishing some Jury Trials. If you, or someone you know, is an expert in Law, I need your assistance. I am seeking someone in the area to interview and talk to regarding the governments plan to abolish some trials by a Jury. For those unaware, the Government aims to scrap jury trials for crimes with a maximum sentence of less than three years in order to deal with the backlog of around 80,000 cases waiting to be heard. The delays mean some defendants charged today may not face trial until 2030. Any experts or those with experience who would be able to give me opinions on this change, please PM me!
