UK Tech, Policy & Comms Professionals - New Creator Series Topics

Two weeks ago, I started my first ever creator accounts on TikTok and Instagram. Before I shamelessly ask you all to follow me, let me first tell you why I did it. For my whole career, I’ve always been the person staring at the analytics, researching trends, and telling other people (the talent) what to do. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I’m great at this. But I’ve always felt like not having actual experience as a creator was holding me back. How can I confidently train others about something I myself haven’t done? So a few weeks ago I decided to take the plunge. I just needed to figure out what I wanted to talk about. People might think I’m strange for this but when I would write articles for VICE, I couldn’t write a sentence until I had my title. And I couldn’t think of what I would cover until I decided on a name for my accounts. I landed on ‘Does Not Commute’ because it combined my technofatalism with my love of puns and my experience in comms. Then everything else fell into place. 14 days later, I’ve just published my tenth video on the intersection of politics, technology, and comms in the UK. My goal is to help policymakers better understand founders, help founders understand policymakers, and help curious people understand what this says about the country. If you work in tech, policy, or comms I’d love to speak to you about the issues you think need more attention. Send me a DM :) For everyone else, plz check my videos out and follow me if you like the content. I’d appreciate any and all feedback. Links: https://lnkd.in/eakCqbJA https://lnkd.in/e7EE4nJa
