UNC Applicants 2026-27 - Removal of Short-Answer Essays

UNC applicant perspective wanted for DTH story about change in 2026-27 Undergraduate Admissions application Hi everyone, I’m a reporter with The Daily Tar Heel working on a story about UNC’s decision to remove its two short-answer supplemental essay questions from the 2026–27 undergraduate application. I’m looking to speak with students who are currently applying or planning to apply to UNC during the 2026-27 cycle about their thoughts on the change. I’m especially interested in: whether this makes the application easier or harder whether it changes how students plan to present themselves any general reactions (positive, negative, or any opinions are all helpful) Interviews would be only 10–15 minutes over Zoom today or sometime tomorrow.
