Washington DC Creators & Community Leaders - Neighborhood Stories

I have to admit, I’m pretty proud of this one. Issue No. 3 of The DC Pulse is officially out, and three issues in, I think we’re really starting to find our heartbeat. When people outside of Washington think about DC, they usually think about politics, monuments, museums, and whatever is happening on Capitol Hill that day. But those of us who actually live here know that’s only a small part of what makes Washington, Washington. There is an entirely different city happening every day in our neighborhoods—in the restaurants taking chances on new concepts, the artists creating incredible work, the small businesses giving neighborhoods their personality, the nonprofits quietly making a difference, and the entrepreneurs and community leaders building things that bring people together. THAT is the Washington I want The DC Pulse to cover. Issue No. 3 really starts to bring that vision to life. Our cover story takes us inside The Phillips Collection for Tomorrow the Sun Will Rise, an exhibition featuring 48 artists from across our region who were selected from more than 1,500 applicants. Think about that for a second. More than 1,500 artists applied. There is an incredible amount of creativity sitting right here in our backyard, and I want The DC Pulse to help more people discover it. We’re also checking out some of DC’s newest restaurants, spending a day exploring Shaw, sharing what’s happening around the DMV this week, looking at what’s opening and coming next, and introducing some of our latest Pulse Picks. One of the things I’m most excited about is that I don’t want to build The DC Pulse sitting behind a computer deciding what Washington should care about. I want to build it WITH Washington. So I’m calling on my network: Who should I know? Who’s doing something incredible around DC that isn’t getting enough attention? What neighborhood business deserves a spotlight? What nonprofit is quietly changing lives? What artist, entrepreneur, restaurant, event, organization, or hidden gem should be on our radar? Tag them. Introduce me. Send me a message. Invite us over. I genuinely want to hear about them. Some of the best stories in Washington aren’t making headlines—they’re happening right next door. And since apparently launching a publication wasn’t enough to keep me occupied, don’t worry, I’m still over here teaching robots to answer phones and businesses to stop doing things manually that AI can do for them. 😂 It’s Clearly AI is very much alive and kicking, and we’re still building Voice AI, agents, and automations every day.
