Women with PCOS in Australia for Guardian Name Change Feature

More than one in 10 women of reproductive age have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that affects multiple aspects of health including metabolism, skin, mental health, and reproductive and cardiovascular systems. The current name, PCOS, is considered reductive and misleading by many experts and those living with the condition, and there is a global initiative to rename it to better reflect its wide-ranging symptoms and effects. Guardian Australia would like to hear from women with PCOS about their experiences, symptoms, and what a name change would mean to them. If you are living with PCOS and feel comfortable sharing, we would like to hear about your experience, symptoms and what a name change would mean to you.
