High School Sports Betting Impact Sources for NBC News

Looking to speak with people impacted by sports betting in high school Hello, my name is Suzy Khimm, and I’m a reporter for NBC News writing a story about the impact of sports gambling on teenagers, focusing on sports betting by high-school students across the U.S. I’m hoping to speak with people in this community who have gambled on sportsbooks (FanDuel, DraftKings etc.) or other betting apps while they were still in high school. I’m also open to speaking with friends, counselors, therapists, and other folks who know teenage sports gamblers. I'm hoping to learn more about how early this problem can start, how sports gambling companies have targeted underage users, and what can be done to help treat and prevent underage gambling from happening. I was surprised to learn how widespread sports betting has become among teenagers, even before they get to college, and I've been exploring the harmful impact that it can have on kids and their families, both in the short and long-term.
