AI Ethics Researchers & Red Teamers - Lying To Models
#JournoRequest
In 2018 I sat in a philosopher's office with a camera crew and asked him six questions about machine ethics. The last one was whether it's wrong to lie to a machine.
It was the kind of question you ask at the end, when you've got five minutes left and nothing to lose.
Nobody was hiring for it then.
Now I'm reporting a piece on those six questions — which ones got answered, and which ones everybody quietly stopped asking.
I want to talk to:
people working on AI ethics, in universities or inside the labs
red teamers — if lying to models is your actual job, please get in touch
anyone who was in this field before 2020 and can tell me what really changed
Not looking for product pitches.
Comment or DM me. And please repost — the people I need aren't in my network yet.
