I've been hesitant to talk about the book I've been writing because I became stuck at some point. I realized I could not write a book on safety, wellbeing, and belonging for Black women as 600k women left the workforce by force, choice or coercion.
With half a manuscript complete, I finally had a discussion with my publisher. It went much better than I expected. They understood my position and asked me what I wanted to write about.
What I know is it's so important to have people in your life who hear you. People who understand the challenges of this political landscape. Allies in this work.
I'm grateful to my publisher and look forward to sharing several of my newest book projects with the world soon.
In the meantime, come sit with me.
If you're a Black woman managing in corporate finance, I want to hear your story.
Specifically, I'm looking to talk with women who are:
→ In wealth or asset management
→ In regional or community banking — especially outside the major metro hubs → In fintech, insurance, or corporate treasury
And I'm especially looking for those of you who are first-line or mid-level managers, roughly 3-10 years into your career. I've already sat with senior leaders and executives who shared their stories with me — now I want to make sure the voices of women earlier in the climb, in the thick of it right now, are just as present in this work.
If you've felt the weight of misogyny at work in how you're managed, how you're overlooked, how you're expected to show up twice as polished and half as human, this book is for you, and I'd be honored to have your voice in it.
This isn't about another data point. It's about naming what so many of us have carried quietly for far too long and building something that says: I see you, I hear you, and you are not alone in this.
If that's you, or you know her, send me a message. Let's talk.
Because we don't just survive this. We flourish.
