CAS Exam Candidates - Creative & Unconventional Study Habits
I’m in my second year of service to the Candidate Advocacy Working Group (CAWG) for the Casualty Actuarial Society, and I’m working on an article for an upcoming Future Fellows newsletter!
The article will highlight unique, creative, and maybe even a little unconventional study habits that helped people get through CAS exams. We all know there’s no single “right” way to study—and sometimes the quirkiest routines are the most effective.
Think:
• Listening to the same song on repeat for your entire 200+ hours of studying 🎵
• Pairing flashcards with kitten snuggles (worked for me during Exam 7 🐾)
If you have a study habit, trick, or routine that worked for you and you’re willing to share, I’d love to hear it!
📧 Please email me at [email redacted] and include:
• Subject line: Study Habits
• Your full name as you’d like it to appear in the article
• A brief description of your study tip or habit
By emailing me, you acknowledge that submission doesn’t guarantee inclusion and that anecdotes may be edited for brevity, clarity, or grammar.
Thanks for helping future candidates see that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to studying!
