Current & Former SSRI Users - Mental Health Journeys & Stigma
True resilience often requires us to ask for help. Sometimes, that help comes in the form of medication, and we need to normalize talking about it.
For years, I navigated my day-to-day life with the help of anti-anxiety medication, and spent over a year on SSRIs. Today, while I am no longer taking them, I frequently reflect on that chapter. I think about the burnout and stress that led me there, the stability the medication provided, and the healthy mechanisms I rely on today to manage my well-being.
We don't talk enough about the reality of managing mental health while keeping up with the demands of life and career. I want to change that on the SMC Podcast.
I am looking to interview individuals who are open to sharing their own mental well-being journeys regarding anti-anxiety medication or SSRIs (past or present). We will discuss:
The realities of the mental health journey
Navigating the stigma around medication
The healthy habits and coping mechanisms we utilize today
If you are willing to share your story to help others feel less alone, please send me a direct message. Letโs have a candid conversation about the tools that keep us moving forward. ๐๏ธ
