Data Center Operators in Southeast Asia - UPS Batteries Unlocking Value

I've been working on a piece about something we see in the field: data center operators across Southeast Asia are sitting on battery infrastructure that could be actively working against rising energy costs and most of it isn't. Right now, most facilities treat UPS πŸ”‹ as a passive safety net but it doesn't have to be the case. In fact, it can actually unlock more value than we give it credit for. It's clear that the cost of not acting is also getting expensive in the current environment where electricity costs in the region are on a clear upward trend. A lot of the technical framing here comes from working closely with Stephane Bernard LEYO, whose background in battery management and control architecture shaped how we think about the gap between how these assets are managed and what they could actually be doing. Would love to hear from anyone working in this space Full article via AMPLICITY's Substack (link in comments) Gabriel Schiano #batterystorage #datacenters #BESS
