Diversity & Equal Pay Experts in Adland for Campaign UK Report

📣 With both gender and ethnicity pay gaps widening, this year’s Campaign UK School Reports diversity metrics reveal “a major backward step”. 💰 That's according to Ali Hanan, chief executive of Creative Equals, who says “one reason that is happening is because diversity efforts are stopping short of financial equity". 📉 Median pay gaps worsened, on average, in 2024 to 12.4% in favour of men, and 15.4% in favour of those who are not ethnic minorities. ❔So, how can adland do better? 💷 Hanan argues that “radical pay transparency” is the solution. She calls for agencies to “stop treating salaries as a closed-door discussion and publish pay bands across job levels”. Internal pay audits should be made routine, she says, with salary adjustments made for those underpaid. 📈 “And, for real change, leadership bonuses should be tied to closing the gender pay gap, forcing agencies to treat this as a business imperative, not a nice-to-have.” ❔ Are any agencies testing these approaches?
