EU VC Investors - €5bn Scaleup Europe Fund Impact - Sifted
In case you missed it earlier this week, my colleague Freya Pratty and I got the scoop that Swedish investment firm EQT and British VC Atomico are now going head to head to win the management of the EU’s new €5bn Scaleup Europe Fund, which will invest in deeptech startups in areas like spacetech and AI.
The two are the last left in the running after three other firms — Eurazeo, Northzone and Vitruvian Partners — were notified that they would not advance from their spot on the shortlist.
The fund’s massive size would be a boon to the firm selected to run it, and a source with direct knowledge of the process told us earlier this week that a decision is “imminent”.
Who do you reckon will win it? And what impact do you think such a ginormous fund will have on the ecosystem? ]Send me your thoughts and predictions.
