Do you have a story about a great father to share?
I didn't have much of a father. He was abusive, and as a result, I grew up under my mother's boot heel. As a result, I lived as a shadow of a man most of my life. It was awful.
With that said, I think we focus too much on the negative when it comes to fathers. The Homer Simpson effect.
I want to hear your stories of great fathers who taught you to be a good, kind, providing man.
Could be your own experience as a dad, something your father gave you or didn't, or someone who showed up as a father figure.
This would be for YouTube. It's a new series I'm creating to show off what positive masculinity can look like, especially in father form.
Some of the topics I'm exploring: rebuilding after divorce, raising sons, co-parenting, fitness and physical practice, spiritual life as a father, financial stewardship across generations, dating in midlife with integrity, and the broader question of what fatherhood looks like as a mission rather than a role.
If you're living in one of these areas or seeing it from an angle I haven't mentioned, I'd like to hear from you. DM me please.
