FIFO Fathers - I want to hear from you. The FIFO Family Project is presenting at the Australian Fatherhood Research Symposium on 8 May. We interviewed fathers for the guide and I’ve heard many stories from Dads since. I want to hear from you so we have more FIFO dads’ voices in the conversation. If you’re a FIFO father: - What worked when you came back to site after becoming a dad? - What didn’t? - What would’ve made the difference? If you work alongside FIFO fathers - supervisor, GP, midwife, CHN, EAP, HSE: - What do you need to actually support them? - What have you seen work? - What’s missing? We know fathers are leaving the industry FIFO when they start a family. Not because they want to - but because they don’t feel they can manage both. We’re here to say they can. With support. But we need to know what that actually looks like in practice.
