opening my dusty laptop after a birthday week.
why a full week?
well, why not.
for many years my birthday was a “no plans day”
but this year instead, my sister and my nephew
came to stay with me for the week of,
a few special friends also
and I took some days off the screen completely
other days I would work but in between festive breakfasts
- lunches - dinners and a lot of loud music in the car
I managed to do both somehow,
keep up with work projects,
submerge completely in personal time.
I had the urge to post here throughout but I did not,
the thoughts felt incomplete,
my mind felt present elsewhere

today my post-birthday reflection is this:
we still live in “seasons”, and in gentle phases
planting, maintaining, harvesting, off-harvest,
sometimes hunting and foraging,
not necessity according to the sun and the moon but
according to our own calendars
our work-life touches our life-life and they both feed one another
the boundaries are not fixed, they are seasonal
some under our control, and a ton of it outside
the endless hustle vs worklife balance debate
is had almost always out of context
the same goes for the death of SaaS,
of ads, of email, of the fax and
whatever challenged tech or practice in "question"
the more INteresting questions are not:
“to be or not to be?”
“black or white?”
“good or bad?”
“hustle or ney?”
/although social media algos love those

the next season: layer in the context
stepping out of the "AI rush" for seven days allowed me to digest
the information I’ve been INgesting all year.
I am hungry again and starting a new long-form series (written and video)
to explore the go to market, GTM, of the future,
specifically for fintech and martech,
in a more complete "contextfull" way
and delve into:
1. Why the B2B SaaS math is not mathing?
B2B SaaS has enjoyed the highest margins and valuations in business history,
But how to go from "subscription-seat" margins to the "token economy"?
Where does investment money flow with no guarantees of outsized returns?
2. How Post-UI with go crazy API?
As UIs dissolve into chatbots how do we maintain an emotional connection and differentiate our brands?
3. How to Swim in a Sea of Slop?
How do you not sink but swim and convert effectively in a sea of sloppy? An ocean more like.
4. Agentic teams & the “E” (for ecosystem) factor...that's a big one.
The interconnectedness that defined Fintech is now reshaping Martech.
The rise of "Agentic GTM Teams" and signal-based "Allbound."
How do we build and maintain the AI agent teams of the future,
while simultaneously scaling the personal brands of the humans behind them?
Which roles will we value, and which will we sunset as we move toward "Service-as-Software"?

To unpack properly, I am looking for 100 experts in GTM
within fintech and martech to interview for a biannual report and a vlogcast.
If you (or someone you know) are thinking about these shifts, please drop a comment or DM me
