I raised over $6 million from retail investors through equity crowdfunding. I was investigated by the SEC, reported to the FBI, and had a watchdog site ask where my money went. I was cleared of all wrongdoing. Every time. But nobody warned me any of this was possible before I took the money. Maybe because I was among the first to ever do it and we were all learning as we went.
