So, how are we taking notes these days, Together Friends? We got into a healthy discussion over on the Together Insiders channel, and I'm working on a piece about different notetaking options, and their benefits and drawbacks.
We have discussed everything from:
✅Google doc templates
✅Digital physical notebooks -- ReMarkable, Rocketbook, etc.
✅Digital online notebooks -- Evernote, OneNote
✅Apps like GoodNotes where you can write on digital templates, add photos, and annotate
✅AI options, such as Otter / Granola that will summarize next steps for you
✅Good old-fashioned pencil and paper -- like my sophomore's AP Psych class notes below, and yes, she has some kind of amazing handwriting, and who out there doesn't love some doodling and a highlighter?!
I also know this was a hot topic of conversation in our house before our college Together Teen left for freshman year (welcome to my house 😆)
One key takeaway is we have to be super clear on WHY we are even taking notes. For transparency? For processing? For next steps? For documentation? for learning? Do you want to be recorded? Do you need to refer to the notes later?
And then your choice should follow the why. . . and no one approach fits all needs. Whatcha got to share on this? What works for you and why? What fits your organization's culture? (You could end up cited in my blog post).
