Historians of Environmental Regulation - Origins of Sierra Club

I am looking to interview people who are experts in the history of environmental regulation and understand the origins of e.g. the Sierra Club for project I am doing. Would really appreciate pointers/help on this matter and recommendations regarding whom to talk to.
