I’m working on an upcoming story for indianexpress.com about the growing money mindset clash between Indian parents and Gen Z children -- and I’d love to hear from people across generations.
Many Indian parents grew up believing financial security meant stable jobs, fixed savings, home ownership, avoiding risk, and 'settling down' early. But Gen Z is redefining success differently: prioritising investments, experiences, mental health, work-life balance, travel, convenience, passion-driven careers, and sometimes even quitting jobs that feel emotionally draining.
I’m looking to speak with:
• Gen Z individuals navigating disagreements with parents around money, career paths, spending habits, or life goals
• Parents trying to understand (or struggling with) their children’s financial choices and priorities
• Financial advisors and psychologists who can share insights on how changing attitudes toward money are affecting relationships, independence, and long-term financial habits
