Keizer Police Spokesperson - Bricks & Minifigs Death Threat

Keizer Police: Sorry BAM, We Don't Arrest for Mean Posts I could find no evidence to substantiate BAM Franchising's allegation that Bryan Mansell made a death threat to a store manager in Keizer. I've reviewed every report filed with the Keizer Police Department for Bricks & Minifigs between Nov. 14, 2024, and Sept. 9, 2025: the time between the corporate takeover and when Reckless Ben became involved. There is no contemporaneously reported death threat in any of them. The closest I could find is this April 11, 2025 report. The allegation of a death threat, made several times publicly, was also a key basis of their civil lawsuit accusing Bryan Mansell, Reckless Ben and others of racketeering and conspiracy. Ammon McNeff, Joshua Johnson, Brandon Best and others requested and quickly received an expansive ex parte restraining order, broadly forbidding defendants from speaking about plaintiffs. It also required previous videos and posts to be taken down, among other restrictions. Paragraph 54 of the civil complaint says: >"Thereafter and for a period of months, Bryan, directly and indirectly, harassed Josh and Brandon and the personnel at Baker Salem, made threats of physical injury to their employees (including an in person death threat to the store manager), lodged police complaints, posted negative reviews and incited others to negatively post online comments, contacted a podcast (which later led to Schneider's involvement), etc. Josh and Brandon reported these incidents to the police, who cautioned care, but did not charge Bryan for unknown reasons." I was always very curious about this. It is a major claim, and it was never elaborated on with more precise timing or wording in the complaint, public comments or the incident log (Exhibit I) of the complaint. It seems to be the only true death threat alleged against any actual party in the entire suit. One would think that it is verified and significant if their lawyers, Ammon McNeff, and Joshua Johnson all signed their names to it. If the threat did happen, it was not significant enough to report to Keizer Police. It was also not significant enough to mention to employees working at the time. An employee I spoke to says that she was never warned of any risks to her safety. And the young employees were still often assigned to work without a manager present. Side Story: This employee also told me that she and others were not paid for a significant amount of time. She thinks this included her manager, Amanda. She worked for the previous owner, Chrys Gorman, and was around when Reckless Ben became involved. I am working on setting up a longer interview with her. Maybe it was the other things mentioned in the lawsuit that bothered them: the police complaints, negative reviews, negative online comments and contacting a podcaster. In the April 11 report, Brandon calls Keizer Police. The report says Brandon "was contacted by loss prevention personnel from the company stating that Bryan was possibly going to be leading an attack on the store tonight." The police reviewed a screenshot of a Facebook comment from an unknown person on one of Bryan's posts. The report said, "There was no set time and an unknown person had replied to a post made by Bryan about the location stating something to the effect of, 'Lets get the store tonight.'" The officer advised that this did not constitute a direct threat. The officer said, "Brandon also wanted to know what I could do to make Bryan stop posting about the business on social media. I advised Brandon I could not control what Bryan posted on social media." The officer did agree to warn Bryan to stop calling the store. Oregon's telephonic harassment statute makes it a misdemeanor to "\cause\] such other person's telephone to ring, knowing that the caller has been forbidden from so doing by a person exercising lawful authority over the receiving telephone." Bryan was angry that he was asked to stop contacting the store. Incidentally, the call to police in this instance was made less than an hour after u/CollectingWeekly submitted requests for comment to BAM Franchising through its online form and the Salem store through its Facebook page. The podcast is not mentioned in the police report. Brandon has said he did not have access to that Facebook page until weeks later. I am working on a story about Collecting Weekly's original attempts to resolve this. They provided previously unreleased quotes from an interview April 2025 interview with Johnson and Best shortly before receiving legal threats.
