Last-Mile Delivery Optimization Expert for GlobeSt.com Target Feature

WSJ has a story on Target (https://www.wsj.com/articles/target-tests-new-models-for-next-day-delivery-463adbe7) and its search for new ways to get deliveries to customers on next-day schedules. I’m interested in the theory of how such things work. Are there known mathematical optimizations of distributed delivery models? Other insights into what has worked for others? The principles of any tradeoffs in offloading from busier stores to others? Other options/tradeoffs for greater efficiency, like central delivery sources? I could potentially take written comments over the weekend but would really like to close this out today. - For GlobeSt.com, preferred deadline is 7pm tonight (12/12), could potentially take comments into the weekend but would like to close this out today. - Please reply to [email redacted].
