Minneapolis & St Paul Activists - Counter-Veillance Comms Uplift

I'm currently working on an article about the 'technologies of resistance' that came into play during the federal occupation of Minneapolis and St Paul. (Link in the comments to a segment I recorded on local radio station KFAI about this subject with my neighbor, lawyer + activist Steve Young this past weekend.) For me, the technologies worth talking about include those that fall into the streams of counter-veillance (watching the watchers), coordination + communication (Signal and the evolving protocols surrounding its use, whistles), and uplift (trainings, solidarity calls on Zoom, and group singing). I'm currently interviewing folks who participated in some way in the Minnesota resistance about how these and other technologies were part of their lives during the height of Operation Metro Surge.
