NEETs - Personal Experiences & Reasons Behind NEET Status

Media request: Share your story with Yahoo Hi NEETs, I'm a journalist with Yahoo. I'm working on a story about the rising number of people who are — you guessed it — not employed, in education or training. My only goal, really, is to hear your stories. There's data showing that more people (especially young adults, and disproportionately young adult men) are becoming NEETs, whether voluntarily or involuntary. But there are also a lot of assumptions about why this is happening. That's my media pet-peeve. I'd like to shed light on the perspectives of people who are actually living this experience. I want to know if this was a choice for you and, if so, why? If you'd rather be working or in school, what economic, social, personal or other forces are keeping you from that?
