Nomadic Families in Kyrgyzstan - Rural Village Photo Project

Looking for rural villages & nomadic life recommendations in Kyrgyzstan for a documentary photography project Hi everyone, I’m an Italian documentary photographer and I’ll be traveling through Kyrgyzstan this summer working on a long-term personal project about nomadic life and rural villages around the world. I’m especially interested in everyday life, small villages, semi-nomadic families, and places that feel far away from the classic postcard image of Kyrgyzstan. I’m not really looking for trekking routes or tourist experiences — I’d rather spend time in villages, meet people, and work slowly on the project. At the moment I’m trying to understand which regions or villages might be the most interesting for this kind of work, especially places that still have a strong connection with seasonal pastoral life or jailoo culture. I’d also love to connect with local photographers, filmmakers, students, or anyone who might be interested in documentary photography and maybe work together for a few days as a fixer/translator/travel companion. Any recommendations, contacts, or thoughts would really mean a lot. Thanks!
