Nonbinary Participants in St. Louis for Documentary Photo Project
Seeking nonbinary voices in St. Louis for a documentary photography project — Beyond Binaries
Hi everyone — I’m Saf Homin, a documentary photographer and storyteller. I’m currently working on a project called Beyond Binaries, which documents the experiences of nonbinary people through portrait photography, personal reflections, and voice recordings.
The goal is to create a space for authentic representation — to show the diversity, strength, and nuance of nonbinary lives beyond stereotypes or invisibility.
I’m currently looking to connect with nonbinary people based in St. Louis who would be open to:
Being photographed in a way that feels true to who you are
Sharing your story or reflection (through writing or short recorded voice notes)
Having your contribution appear in a public documentary photography project
Participation isn’t anonymous — each person is represented as themselves, with consent and collaboration at every stage. You’ll have the opportunity to review your portrait and text before publication.
If you’re interested or would like to learn more, please feel free to DM me or reply here, and I’ll reach out privately. You can also learn more about the project here: safhomin.com/beyond-binaries.
Thank you for reading, and for the space this community makes for diverse voices in St. Louis. 🌱
— Saf
