In October 2011, I began photographing Occupy Wall Street at Zuccotti Park. Over the next eight months, I traveled across the United States photographing 18 Occupy communities. Over the next eight months, I traveled across the United States photographing18 Occupy communities. I focused not only on demonstrations, but on the people and everyday life inside the movement—tents, kitchens, libraries, meetings, handmade signs and conversations. As I traveled, I carried prints from one encampment to another, where they were displayed and shared among participants.
