On-Record Interviews - Parent PLUS Borrowers & PSLF Loss Risk

Are you worried taking out a Parent Plus loan will jeopardize your PSLF? We'd like to hear from you. Hello, My name is Danielle Douglas-Gabriel, and I'm a reporter for The Washington Post covering the economics of higher education. I write a lot about student loans and financial aid. I'm looking for people wrestling with whether to take out another Parent Plus loan and jeopardize their eligibility for PSLF. Any parent PLUS borrower who takes out a new loan on/after July 1, 2026 will lose access to PSLF, even if they’re currently repaying under an IDR plan.
