Parents of Children With Early Cavities - Oral Health & Wellbeing

I’m working on a story about why children today are developing dental cavities earlier and more frequently than before and how it impacts not just oral health, but their overall wellbeing, confidence, eating habits, and even school life. Many parents assume milk teeth are temporary and don’t require much attention, but untreated decay in children can often lead to pain, infections, difficulty chewing, disturbed sleep, and future dental complications. Are parents today more aware about preventive dental care for children? Do regular dental visits, food habits, screen-time snacking, or brushing routines play a role? How early should oral care actually begin? I’m looking to speak with: • Parents who have managed dental issues in their children • Parents who prioritise preventive dental care • Pediatric dentists who frequently see early childhood cavities If this resonates with you (or someone you know), I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
