Connecting with Blackshear, Oak Springs parents Hello! My name is Chloe Young, and I'm a reporter covering Austin ISD for Community Impact. I'm looking to connect with parents for a story about the future of Oak Springs and Blackshear elementaries. While Oak Springs was initially slated to permanently close next school year and merge with Blackshear, the district is now considering moving both Blackshear and Oak Springs communities into the new bond-funded Oak Springs campus once it is complete.
