Unexpected costs of university Hi, my name is Rob Gerlsbeck, and I'm a freelance journalist working for the Globe and Mail. I'm working on a story for the personal finance section about the unexpected costs of going to university — things beyond tuition, residence, meal plans, and rent/groceries. So stuff like all the university fees, other costs that come up and more. What are some things you, as either a student or parent, had to pay for that you didn't think of beforehand?
