People With Agoraphobia & Clinicians - Post-Pandemic Increase
Looking for people who have experienced Agoraphobia
I'm a journalist and I'm writing a story about agoraphobia. ALL ON THE RECORD WITH NAME ABLE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE STORY: I want to talk to people who've suffered from the disorder or are currently struggling with it, as well as expert researchers, psychiatrists and therapists that specialize in the anxiety disorder. Specialists and patients in the New York City area is preferred but not required.
To my understanding, there's been an uptick in cases due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the convenience of our society nowadays (food/grocery delivery services, remote work, social media, etc.) Any recent insight or data would also be helpful: there's differing data on exactly how many people have been diagnosed, I'd love anything from 2025 — I've seen 1.3% of the US and most recently I've seen 2.6%. Any NYC-related data would be cool too, but I don't think there's enough research yet.
DM me if you're not comfortable posting, especially with your personal information.
