Political Science Experts on Industry Leaders in High Office

Two figures in commercial real estate are running for governor in two different states. I'm interested in the history and practice of significant figures in industries that ran for major political office. Two major questions: - First, how often are they successful? - Second, if they get elected, to what degree do they successfully use their influence in office to benefit the industry they were/are part of?
