Product & Innovation VPs in Outdoor Apparel - Pivotal Work Decision

The outdoor and active worlds are full of great people, and I get to interview them. I love it. I wanted to shout out some of my past guests and namecheck some of those coming up. Donna Brunsis the former VP of Product at my favourite outdoor brand, Fjällräven. I love this brand so much that when I failed to close the roofbox of my car after stopping at a French motorway service station, and my Fjällräven jacket blew out onto the autoroute, I bought another Fjällräven jacket straightaway. Donna spoke movingly about removing PFAS from their lineup and how to get an organisation behind what was a difficult sales decision. Bob Nevilleis someone I first noticed in a magazine article. Bob has lived across the world and worked for many of the biggest sporting apparel brands. He lives in a converted church and sees every day as a chance for new adventures. He said to me, "Why would I ever retire?" Bob is now masterminding the relaunch of Berghaus, tapping into their roots in the North of England and their storied mountaineering heritage. I just wrapped a conversation withPhilip Tavell, who has taken the reins at ski-touring brand Dynafit. Philip is a former professional athlete and speaks about the grit it takes to find sponsors and compete. As well as masterminding Helly Hansen's move from 15th to 1st in ski in North America. In the near future, I am chatting with former VPs at Vans and The North Face, and I am on the lookout for guests. I am also delighted that Kristi Spence, one of the speakers from last year's Outrageous Outdoors festival, will be co-piloting the TNF episode. Thanks, Kristi. My podcast niche is NICHE. In fact if it had a public naming competition, it would likely end up with the name "Niche-y Mc Niche-face." I interview Product and Innovation VPs in sporting apparel and outdoor brands, talking about a single work decision that changed everything. The beauty of this format is that it gives senior leaders a largely uninterrupted opportunity to reflect on decisions they may not have considered before. Guests are always asked the same questions and are sent them in advance. They are also asked who else they would like to hear from as guests. Yvon Chouinard was the first. I can dream, right? I always offer guests a chance to ask the audience for something THEY need. Because connecting people is one of life's great privileges. So let's pass it on. Ready to Light the Fuse? Did I mention that was actually its name? #Insight #Outdoor #Apparel
