School Staff - Binaries in Education - Direct vs Student-Centered

On our next Teachers Talk Radio show, Yannick and I want to talk about the binaries of education: Direct instruction vs student centered approaches? Rules and sanctions vs restorative and relationships? Do these binaries really exist? Is it really just a combination and a compromise? Is there too much theory and philosophy and not enough honesty over what what works in practice? I'd really like to hear from any school staff who'd like to join us for this.
