Semaglutide Patients in Canada - Access Gap After Generic Approval

Good morning everyone. #JournoRequest: I’m reporting a story for The Margin on access to generic semaglutide in Canada. I’m hoping to speak with people who have been prescribed semaglutide and are waiting for, trying to switch to, or trying to find the generic version. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who: – were priced out of brand-name Ozempic – delayed starting because of cost – stretched or rationed doses because it was too expensive – were told by a pharmacy that the generic is approved but not yet available – are dealing with insurance or coverage questions – are paying out of pocket and hoping the generic will make it more affordable This story is about the gap between a drug being approved and patients actually being able to access it — and what that gap has cost people. Please feel free to message me privately. I’m a journalist based in Ontario, and I’m happy to explain the story before you decide whether you’d like to speak. Or you could email me: [email redacted]
