Social Media Handle Owners - Lost Handles After Meta Launches

These stories are always so fascinating to me! Another case of someone losing long-established social media handles at the time Meta happens to launch a product of the same name. 👀 This time, it was the band Muse (2 million+ followers) losing "Muse" on Instagram and X just as Meta launched its AI agent of the same now which uses the same handle! There were similar instances in the past with "Threads" and "Meta" both of which belonged to much smaller companies before Meta took over the accounts. Like I said, I find these cases really fascinating. Officially, Meta doesn't allow entities to buy/sell/trade usernames, though it definitely still happens. And I wonder how much choice anyone really has in the matter when the multibillion-dollar company that owns Instagram says it wants your handle. I know a version of this has also happened many times to others who have "desirable" usernames that a celebrity or big company may want...
