Stay-at-Home Mothers - Career Ambition & Return-to-Work Pressure

I am in the process of writing a book that explores what happens when the career you once built no longer fits the life you now want—and why so many women, after motherhood, are forced to redefine success, redesign/pivot in their careers, and pave a new path for themselves. I want to hear from you! I want to know: Did becoming a stay-at-home mom change your relationship to ambition or career success? If so, how? Did you ever realize the career you had before children no longer fit the life you wanted afterward? What triggered that realization? What part of your old professional identity did you miss most while staying home? Did you ever feel pressure to “return to normal” professionally? Where do you think that pressure came from?
