what is a border you didn't draw? | call for submissions: stories about the boundaries we inherit, not choose
hi everyone,
i'm putting together the first issue of the girl archive, a student-led digital publication documenting contemporary girlhood through essays, visual work, personal narratives, diary fragments, photography, and experimental pieces.
our launch theme is "borders we didn't draw."
we're interested in the rules, expectations, limitations, and boundaries girls inherit rather than choose. these can be cultural, familial, political, geographic, educational, bodily, or deeply personal.
we're looking for:
personal essays
reflections
visual art
photography
diary excerpts
notes, fragments, and experimental work
we're especially interested in lived experiences rather than academic analysis.
if you've ever found yourself navigating a line you didn't create, we'd love to hear from you.
submissions are open to students and young creatives.
