Students, Researchers & Academics in India - Censorship of Research

Hi, I'm Apoorva Yarabahalli, and I'm working on an article about the censorship of critical research in India. I'm looking to speak with students, researchers, and academics who have experienced attempts—subtle or direct—to discourage, delay, or suppress their research. This could include being nudged away from a topic, facing bureaucratic hurdles, institutional pressure, or professional consequences for pursuing certain lines of inquiry. I'm interested in hearing about how your research evolved, when you realised it had become contentious, how you navigated the situation, and how it affected you personally and professionally. If creative practices such as writing, art, journals, or photography became part of how you processed the experience, I'd also be interested in hearing about that. Conversations are entirely voluntary. If you prefer, your identity can be anonymised, and nothing will be published without your consent regarding how your experiences are represented. If you're willing to speak—or know someone who might be—please send me a message. #AcademicFreedom #Research #HigherEducation #India #ResearchEthics #AcademicResearch #FreedomOfInquiry #SocialScience #Academia #ScholarlyResearch
