Talented Cricketers in India - Cost Barriers To Playing Cricket

Could you afford to play cricket? I am a journalist and I am working on a story about the finances required to play cricket. Obviously, it's much more difficult than football because cricket gear is expensive. I have spoken to several coaches and cricketers across India and have got mixed perspectives.
