Teens & Young Adults - Modern Dating & Horror Film Resonance

Question for young people... I'm a journalist working on a piece about modern dating, intimacy and why so many recent horror films seem to resonate with younger audiences. I'm interested in hearing from teenagers and young people about your experiences of dating and relationships today. Some questions: Does dating feel harder than it did for previous generations? If so, why? What do you find most difficult about modern dating? Do dating apps make you feel more connected or more disposable? Do you find it easy to trust people romantically? Have ghosting, situationships or fear of commitment affected your relationships? Do you think people your age struggle with intimacy or vulnerability? Are there any films or TV shows that capture what dating feels like right now? One theory I'm exploring is that a lot of modern horror films seem to tap into fears around loneliness, uncertainty, rejection, identity, and not knowing whether someone is who they say they are. I'd love to know whether that resonates with you or sounds completely wrong. Happy to anonymise comments if requested. Also feel free to email me at [email redacted] if you'd prefer to send your thoughts that way!
