Tenants - Rent Rise Citing CGT & Negative Gearing

Are landlords jacking rents using CGT and negative gearing as excuse? Hi, I'm a Guardian reporter looking into suggestions some landlords have increased rents using the CGT and negative gearing changes as justification. Is this happening?
