Tradespeople 10+ Years in Ontario - Barriers To Entry For Newcomers

Call out: I'm a reporter working on a story about skilled trades in Ontario Hi folks, I'm Kunal Chaudhary, a reporter for The Walrus. I am working on a story about skilled trades in Ontario. I'm hoping to speak with people who have experienced significant barriers to entering a profession in the trades--whether that is accessing educational opportunities, landing an apprenticeship, or pursuing work opportunities. I'm also looking to speak with tradespeople who have been in their respective field for more than a decade, to get a sense of how you think things have changed, and what needs to be done to level out the playing field for young professionals entering the job.
