University Staff & Students - Pet Therapy Experiences & Research

This is a #journorequest – and the cute dog picture is not just a lure. This is Pickle, my super friendly fur bestie. If she spots you on the other side of the road, she’ll drag me across to come and say hello. That’s how friendly she is. Given how adorable she is, it felt criminal not to share her – which is why we were so happy when she got accepted as a care dog by Canine Concern CIO Since passing the assessment, we joined a few sessions with staff and students at the University of Sussex. It was such a lovely experience that it gave me an idea for a feature article. I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with pet therapy or animal-assisted therapy programmes in universities. I am especially interested in case studies, tips on how to organise these programmes, feedback from participants, and the science behind pet therapy. Have you organised a pet therapy session for university staff or students? Have you taken part in one? Have you researched the psychological benefits of pet therapy for employees and students? If so, please DM me – I’d love to hear from you!
