Unsuccessful Applicants' CEOs - Health Peak Program Funding Results
Hot off the presses! #TheZap, by Charles Maskell-Knight
Of 138 organisations that applied for federal funding under the Health Peak and Advisory Bodies Program, only 12 have been successful; there must be some unhappy CEOs around. Previously, 21 organisations were funded under this program, according to the website. Croakey is keen to hear from relevant parties.
The column this week also covers a key gap in membership of the National Oral Health Plan Steering Group; after all, why would the Commonwealth be interested, given data showing there were almost 90,000 potentially avoidable admissions to public hospitals for dental procedures in 2022-23…
The Zap also reports on calls for a genuine shift of power, resources and decision-making into the hands of First Nations peoples and communities, and the National Plan to End the Abuse and Mistreatment of Older People 2026-2036.
The quotable?
"Addressing the shockingly high number of older Australians experiencing abuse – often at the hands of someone they trust – must be a national priority.”
