US Youth Soccer Parents - Club Fees, Scams & Transparency

Youth soccer scams/transparency Hi all - I’m new to this forum, so I wanted to introduce myself and explain why I’m here. I’m a former professional soccer player, coach, and club director who has spent years seeing the U.S. youth soccer system from multiple sides. I’ve reached a point where I believe parents deserve far more transparency and accountability regarding where their money is going. Families across the country are spending thousands of dollars every year on club fees, travel, coaching, tournaments, uniforms, and other expenses. If you’re making that level of financial commitment to your child’s development, I believe you deserve to understand what you’re paying for, how clubs operate, and whether the experience being promised is actually being delivered. That’s one of the reason why I started ProfessorFooty and a series called the U.S. Youth Soccer Transparency Project. The purpose of this project is not to bash clubs, attack individuals, or damage reputations. I’ve left club soccer and have no club affiliation or personal interest in promoting one organization over another. My goal is to investigate the system fairly, highlight clubs and organizations that are genuinely doing right by players and families, and raise legitimate questions when things don’t appear to add up. I also want this project to be evidence-based. I’m not interested in rumors, personal grudges, or anonymous accusations presented as facts. If you have information you believe parents should know about(positive or negative)I’d love to hear from you. But please be prepared to provide documentation, firsthand evidence, publicly available information, or something tangible that can be independently verified. If a club is doing great work, I want parents to know about it. If there are legitimate concerns, parents deserve to know about those too. I understand that asking difficult questions may make me unpopular in certain circles, and I’m okay with that. My responsibility isn’t to protect the reputation of the system. It’s to pursue the truth fairly, responsibly, and with integrity so families can make more informed decisions for their children.
