📢I’m looking to speak with people who understand voluntary carbon markets in forestry and agriculture.
On one hand, we continue to see new funds being raised for nature-based solutions across forests and agricultural systems.
Tech companies are still signing offtake agreements for high-quality carbon credits.
And yet, every week, we see carbon-related startups and project developers shutting down or scaling back.
So what’s happening? Is demand weaker than it looks?
I get that turning carbon projects into scalable, profitable businesses remains difficult - with high costs, long timelines, complex verification, uncertain pricing, and trust issues making it hard for many companies to survive.
Is it a supply-demand imbalance? Is it a normal phase of rationalisation in a young market? Or is it a lack of adequate funding to reach profitability?
What's your view?
I want to speak with people who have experience in this field. Please reach out if you’re open to sharing your view, thank you!
